Paradise Perks
So last night me and a few others from ISJ decided to look for a new location for the Irvine Sketch Jam. We ended up finding a nice local mom and pop coffee shop in Irvine called Paradise Perks.
I was really bummed about Lee's Sandwich changing their hours but had it not happened we would not have found out about this little treasure. (I actually knew about it but always felt it was small and perhaps crowded on a Friday night. Turns out that is not the case lol).
It's a really cozy coffee shop with a lot of tables and not really crowded on a Friday night at all. Which works for us Friday night artists.
I've posted up a few pics of the place but this looks like it will be the new location for the Irvine Sketch Jam. But yeah, looks like we found a new home for ISJ! :)

ISJ - JANUARY 20! - NEW LOCATION!
Hey everyone!
Unfortunately Lee's Sandwich has changed their hours and now closes at 9PM. It's been like this the past 2 weeks and we've had to relocate from Cha for Tea to In-N-Out or Taco Bell. It's a lot of trouble and I don't want that for anyone.
The new location will be at IRVINE SPECTRUM - OASIS FOOD COURT!
Hours will be from 8PM-11PM and after wards is your call. Some people may want to go grab drinks afterward to hang out more.
Irvine Spectrum Oasis Food Court is DIRECTLY OPPOSITE from Edwards 21 Cinema. Look at images below:

After tomorrow I will start Kazone Art Academy next Friday. That finishes it at 10:30PM so I will make my way over to Irvine Spectrum as things are wrapping up to say hi to everyone. I will come late but I WILL be there.
Irvine Sketch Jam belongs to everyone that's come and gone to it and everyone that will come in the future. It's been going for over a year. It started off with just myself, then Brigitte La and Justin Kim came along, and then it just continued to grow from there. And I hope it continues to stay strong and keep growing. We need more things like this in Orange County. Burbank/LA County is the hot spot for art. Why not make Orange County another hot spot?
The weekly sketching group has opened me up to so many people in my lives that I care about it. It hasn't just affected me but others that have come to the sketch group. My friends have all made new friends along the way to share along in the art journey. It hasn't just exposed us to amazing artists but amazing people as well.
It's going to be an interesting transition but I hope everyone works with me on this. And I hope to see everyone tomorrow! :)

Local Private Art Schools in Southern California
I thought I'd compile a list of art schools for people. Back in college I'd google different art schools and had a hard time finding them because I was new to the art field. I graduated from UCI so I already had a degree and was not looking for an art degree. What I wanted was art education at a price that I could afford without owing a lot of money in school debt. I still had my UCI school loans to pay off. Hopefully this list of schools will help you out if you are in the same situation that I am in. More bang for your buck right? ;)
Since I've graduated, many schools have opened up. I figured if I compile a list like this it could save a lot of time for people. Hopefully this list will help people who are looking for art schools to study foundation, painting, drawing, entertainment design, fine arts, etc.

FIRST IRVINE SKETCH JAM OF THE YEAR BEGINS TOMORROW!!!! HOORAH!!!
I hope the holidays and new years celebrations have treated everyone well! Hope you guys made it safe into 2012! Tomorrow will be the first Irvine Sketch Jam of the year at the usual location of Lee's Sandwich.
Over the next few days I'll try my best to update this blog for more resources for people regarding figure workshops and local art schools. Anyhow, details below and I hope to see you guys tomorrow night! :)
